Dayspring Leadership

Everyone on the Dayspring Leadership Team has been to Haiti and has a passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each has a desire to see the Word of God preached in word and deed through-out Haiti.

Executive Director

Carol Hawthorne and her husband, Bruce, founded Dayspring Ministries in 1984. Carol has been Executive Director of Dayspring ever since. She has been to Haiti 40+ times and is proud to be considered "Haitian" by her friends at the Mission. Carol enjoys interacting with her "Dayspring Family" here and with her friends in Haiti. Carol and her husband, Bruce, are now grandparents to Wessley, son of their adopted son, Steve.

Dr. Scott Hoffman is President of Dayspring and is a good friend to Pastor Ronald in Haiti. Scott has been on many trips to Haiti, and is Chief of Staff for Will Graham at BGEA. Scott is also a pastor at Trinity Virginia Beach.

Bruce Hawthorne is CFO of Dayspring and manages the donations and the Light & Peace budget. He's been on many mission trips and serves as team photographer. At home, Bruce is president of Hawthorne Associates, Inc.

Richard Spanier is a Dayspring Trustee. He heads his own company in NJ and has provided insight and support for several large building projects. His family has visited Haiti, and he also provided extra orphanage security.

Dr. Judy Banks is our Dayspring Medical Advisor and Trustee. She has led many medical missions to Haiti. Judy led a team to Haiti just days after the 2019 earthquake. Judy has her ob/gyn office in Florham Park, NJ.

Larry Martin is a Trustee and Dayspring's logistics coordinator - shipping buses, trailers and containers to the Light & Peace Church in Haiti. Larry and Martha and their son and daughter have all been to Haiti.

Martha Martin is Assistant Director and is in charge of Outreach. She meets with church leaders and encourages them to become mission partners with Dayspring. She and her family have all been to Haiti.

Joan Burkett is the Director of Dayspring West. She owns her own insurance company in Denver and began the Micro Loan program at L&P. Joan also sends shipping containers to our friends in Haiti.

Kristen Edwards is Dayspring Sponsor Coordinator. She knows all the children at the Orphanage and finds American sponsors for each them. She keeps all the sponsors and orphanage kids connected.

Frank Procaccini is a Dayspring Trustee from NJ. He's visited Haiti many times and always brings a group of people from his church along with him. Frank loves the kids at the orphanage and they love him.

Ted Marcus is a Dayspring Trustee and a retired executive at ADP when he's not building screen doors or putting up railings at the orphanage. He and his wife Linda live in Maryland.
