Light & Peace Missions in Haiti
The Light & Peace Mission churches were established in Haiti over forty years ago by St. Ange Lefranc, father of Pastor Ronald Lefranc. When his father died in 1992, Pastor Ronald continued his father's ministry to the many Light & Peace Mission churches in the cities and mountain villages of Haiti.
Pastor Ronald is well-known and respected in the Port-au-Prince area and in his church families all over Haiti. He is married to his wife, Leona, and has four children: Vanessa, Kevin, Mark and Marvin.
Pastor Ronald has many responsibilities in addition to being pastor of his own church in Bon Repos. He is Bishop Lefranc over the 50 other Light & Peace Missions, as well as director the many Light & Peace Christian Schools, My Father’s House Orphanage, and other programs such as the Widows Care Program and the Micro Loan Program.
On the last weekend of January, all 50 of the Light & Peace Missions send representatives and choirs to the Annual Convention held at the Bon Repos church. For three days, pastors preach, teachers teach, choirs sing, and the people rejoice together as one Mission family from all the various parts of Haiti.

Light & Peace Mission in Bon Repos, Haiti 1997It's been said that a girl in Haiti just needs one meal a day and a white dress for church to be happy, but that might not be true. The church/school in Trois Mares

Light & Peace Mission in Bon Repos, Haiti 2014On the left is the Light & Peace Mission in Bon Repos, Haiti, as it looked in 1997. Above is how it looks today. The church congregation has grown from about 200 to 1000 people.
Dayspring has been encouraging and supporting this congregation for almost 20 years, but the most dramatic period of growth was right after the terrible earthquake that shook Haiti in January 2010. People all over Haiti flocked to the churches to mourn for their lost loved ones and to thank God for being alive. This is the home church that was founded many years, but is stillthe center of all Light & Peace activities. The people in this little church/school in Ganthier are happy to have walls, but they still need a roof. From the outside, this church in Cabaret looks a little sad...... but inside it's full of happy faces. |
